Anti-raid
Anti-raid reduces damage from join waves and suspicious new accounts—account-age gates on Free, with join-flood detection and lockdown tools on Pro.
What it does#
When enabled, AIO evaluates new joins against your policies. Very new Discord accounts can be delayed, quarantined, or blocked from sending messages until they pass your threshold. Pro servers can detect rapid join floods and trigger lockdown modes that limit invites or posting until staff clear the incident.
Use anti-raid together with Automod join gates and Moderation for a layered defense.
Dashboard path#
Dashboard → Servers → {Guild} → Anti-raid
Set minimum account age, choose actions for failing joins, and on Pro configure flood thresholds and lockdown behavior. Document your policy in #rules so legitimate new users know what to expect.
Key settings#
| Setting | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum account age gate | 7 days (fixed on Free) | Configurable |
| Join-flood detection | No | Yes |
| Server lockdown | No | Yes |
| Quarantine / limited access roles | Per dashboard | Expanded |
Anti-raid cannot replace Discord’s own verification levels—use both for high-risk public servers.
Related features#
- Automod — message-level filters after members pass the gate
- Logging — record joins, kicks, and lockdown changes
- Welcome — delay welcome DMs until members are verified if needed
- Auto roles — avoid granting full access roles before gates clear
When to enable#
Public invite servers, gaming hubs with open joins, and post-viral growth periods benefit most. Private staff servers may only need light account-age checks or none at all—evaluate your threat model before enabling lockdown triggers.
Free ships a fixed 7-day minimum account age gate. Legitimate users with brand-new Discord accounts may need manual verification—communicate that in #rules to reduce support pings.
During an active raid#
- Confirm Logging captures joins
- Enable or tighten anti-raid settings on Dashboard → Servers → {Guild} → Anti-raid
- Use Moderation for cleanup after flood subsides
- Pro lockdown can limit damage while staff work—practice toggling it before an emergency
