Automod
Automod watches messages (and some join behavior) against rules you define—blocked words, spam patterns, links, and automated responses such as warn, mute, or delete.
What it does#
When a message matches an active rule, AIO can delete it, warn the author, mute them, or take other actions allowed on your tier. Rules are evaluated in real time so staff spend less time on repetitive cleanup.
Combine automod with Moderation so automated strikes feed into your case history where configured.
Dashboard path#
Dashboard → Servers → {Guild} → Automod
Create rules, choose triggers (word lists, patterns, thresholds), pick actions, and enable only what you need. Start with a few high-signal rules rather than dozens of overlapping filters.

Building a ruleset gradually#
Week one: block slurs and scam links. Week two: add invite spam thresholds. Week three: tune mute durations with Moderation. Jumping straight to maximum rules increases false positives and frustrate legitimate members.
Use Guide: Automod setup for a first pass. On Free, budget 5 active rules and 50 filter entries—combine similar terms into single rules where possible.
